Sahasrara - The Crown Chakra

It is located at the crown of your head, or, as some believe, just above the crown of your head........hence its name! It is linked to the pituitary gland........this connects to the central nervous system via the hypothalamus, and produces hormones to communicate to the rest of the endocrine system.

In Sanskrit Sahasrana means 'thousandfold' and is symbolised by the 1000 petalled lotus. It is often referred to as the 'mystical centre'.

Too much energy flowing through sahasrara and you may be overly intellectual, or feel you are a cut above others spiritually or intellectually.

A sluggish chakra and you may find it difficult to think for yourself, be apathetic, be skeptical of anything spiritual and be very materialistic!
